Elaichi Kele Ka Halwa / Banana Halwa

This recipe is for those people who love bananas with their milk. This is not only a delicious dessert but also a nutritious food.

INGREDIENTS

Elaichi banana - 4 pc

Milk - 500 ml

Sugar - 30 gm

Jaggery - 10 gm

Cardamom powder - 3 gm

Ghee - 1 tsp

Kesar or saffron (optional) - 1 pinch

Garnish

Soaked raisins - 1 tsp

Cherry - 1

Method

Peel the bananas and chop them roughly with a knife and keep aside.

Heat the milk in a clean kadhai or deep pan. Bring to a boil and lower the heat. Keep the milk cooking on a very slow flame till the milk is thick and looks like rabdi.

Add the sugar and jaggery and mix well.

Now add the chopped bananas and cook for 10 minutes more on a low heat.

Add saffron and cardamom powder and stir once. Put off the heat and serve in a bowl garnished with raisins and cherry. You may also add sliced pista and almond to add more nutritional value.
